EGGstreme Easter Egg Hunt POSTPONED

New Germany State Park's EGGstreme Easter Egg Hunt has been rescheduled due to weather. It will now take place March 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Unlike most traditional egg hunts, the EGGstreme hunt will feature 1,000 eggs hidden along 10 miles of trails.

It is designed for families to experience together, and will involve hiking on trails with various difficulty ratings (some trails may not be suitable for small children). All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Families can register at the Lake House at 403 McAndrews Hill Road, Grantsville any time during the event. Prizes will only be awarded to those who are registered and return their eggs before 3 p.m. A maximum of 20 eggs per family may be collected.

Families should dress appropriately for hiking and bring their own necessities, such as drinking water, snacks and Easter baskets. Trail maps will be provided. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

Sponsors for this year's event include Hilltop Fruit Market (Home of Candyland) and the Friends of New Germany, a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting New Germany State Park.

New Germany staff also manages Big Run, Casselman River Bridge and Dans Mountain state parks.
