Dec. 5: De-stress and
Energize Indoor Park Yoga 5 p.m. at Hawks Nest
Unwind and join Yogafit instructor Samantha for an energizing yoga
practice. Bring a mat or borrow one of ours; available on a first come, first served basis.
Dec. 9: Evitt's
Mountain Hike 11 a.m. at Touch of Nature Parking Lot
Challenge
yourself and enjoy the beautiful vistas with a rewarding hike, guided by one of our park naturalists. This hike will
take 2-3 hours, so be sure to dress for the weather and bring plenty of water and snacks. This is an
intermediate/difficult hike due to the length and incline, but it is worth it!
Dec. 16: Rocky
Trail Hike Noon at the Touch of Nature Parking Lot
Join naturalist Katelynn for a hike along
the the Rocky, Lakeside Loop and
Settlers Path trails. This fitness hike will focus on getting you moving and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We’ll
go at a fast pace, hiking for approximately two hours. Dress for the weather and bring plenty of water and snacks.
Jan. 1: First Day Hike 1 p.m. at Hawks Nest
Greet the New Year actively! Our guided First Day Hike showcases our
rich heritage and celebrates communities past, present and future.
Following in the footsteps of Dans Mountain's "Community
Heritage on the Mountain" morning hike,
learn how life may have been different for residents in Pleasant
Valley compared to Dans Mountain, less than 25 miles away. We'll keep a comfortable pace
sure to meet your New Year's wellness goals.
Dogs on a leash are welcome.
Hot chocolate and coffee will be provided afterward. Dress for the weather and bring plenty of water and snacks.
Jan. 6: Guided
Lakeside Hike Noon at the Touch of Nature Parking Lot
Join naturalist Katelynn for an hourlong hike on the Lake Side
Loop Trail. Learn about the different plant and wildlife species you can find
in Western Maryland.
Jan. 9: Peaceful Evening
Indoor Yoga 5 p.m. at Hawks Nest
De-stress from the holiday madness and join Yogafit instructor Samantha for a
reflective evening practice. All experience levels are welcome. Bring a mat or borrow one of ours; available on a first come, first served basis.
Jan. 20: Canyon Overlook Hike Noon at the Touch of Nature Parking Lot
Join naturalist Katelynn on this short hike through an old
hemlock forest to view the “gap” of Rocky Gap. This hike will last
approximately 45 minutes and is great for beginners.
Jan. 23: Energize and Commit Indoor Park Yoga 5 p.m. at Hawks Nest
