The Board has received a number of inquiries about the availability and delivery of the COVID-19 vaccination to licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. The Board does not currently have any information about the process.
On December 15th Governor Hogan announced at his press conference that Maryland has received 155,000 doses of the inoculations in its first shipment. Governor Hogan hopes to secure an additional 300,000 inoculations by the end of the year.
Maryland’s distribution plan will happen in four phases: 1A, 1B, 2 and 3. Phase 1A (vaccination of critical populations) is focused on critical healthcare frontliners, hospitals, long-term care facilities and first responders. The state has signed up all of the 227 nursing homes and1,668 assisted living facilities for the federal distribution partnership through CVS and Walgreens.
