Maryland Department of Health [Boards & Commission] sent this bulletin at 03/23/2020 07:49 PM EDT
MARYLAND STATE BOARD OF CHIROPRACTIC EXAMINERS
Dear Chiropractic Professional,
The Maryland Board of Chiropractic Examiners has sent you previous communications with regard to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The primary goal of our communications is to keep you informed, and to protect the health and safety of all of our licensee and registrants to the greatest extent possible. We will continue to closely monitor the outbreak of COVID-19, pronouncements from the authorities, and to send you information on an ongoing basis.
The Board’s guidance reflects Executive Orders issued by Governor Larry Hogan, public health recommendations made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Maryland Department of Health (MDH), and other subject matter experts. Because this is a rapidly shifting situation, this guidance may change at any time.
This morning, Governor Hogan issued an Executive Order requiring all non-essential businesses to close by 5 p.m. today. The Secretary of Health subsequently released directives which state, “all providers of health care licensed, certified, or otherwise authorized under the Health Occupations Article shall perform only medical procedures that are critically necessary for the maintenance of health for a patient. All elective and nonurgent medical procedures and appointments shall cease effective at 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2020 and shall not be performed for the duration of the catastrophic health emergency.”
The Board’s recommendation is to follow the directives of the Executive Order and the guidelines issued by the Secretary of Health.
It is important that we all stay up-to-date about COVID-19 and how our profession, working together will ensure a safe environment for all. The Board is providing resource links to:
