Subject: Early Fingerprinting for License Renewal

Bulletin from the Board:

Flag

As you are aware, the State of Maryland requires that all occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants be fingerprinted for a criminal history records check.

  • There is one organization that processes all of the fingerprints for Maryland licensees.
  • Because there are more than 2,000 licensees renewing in 2019, the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Practice has split the licensees into groups.
  • Each group will be given a 30-day window in which to be fingerprinted. You will be emailed your 30-day window at least one week before it begins.
  • You may be fingerprinted before you are alerted to your 30-day window, but it is not required that you do so.
  • Maryland Residents: Bring the Livescan fingerprinting form with you to one of the following sites: http://dpscs.maryland.gov/publicservs/fingerprint.shtml
  • Out of state licensees who cannot travel to Maryland must request an ink fingerprint card from the Board office at lauren.murray@Maryland.gov
