Update regarding your application for COVID-19 Business Relief Funds

Maryland Department of Commerce logo

Dear Applicant:

Thank you again for your patience during this process.

Unfortunately, our grant funds have been exhausted and we are unable to provide you with financial support at this time.

We received more than 5,000 applications between March 23 and 24, which utilized nearly all of the $50 million allocated to our grant program. Additionally, only a fraction of March 25 submissions will receive funding.

We understand this isn’t the news you were hoping for, but we are processing every application we received so we can provide a comprehensive list of businesses to our county economic development partners in Maryland. We are hopeful this may help assist with upcoming county COVID-19 relief programs and provide additional funding to companies in need. To monitor available county relief programs, please visit our COVID-19 resource webpage or find links to each of the state’s 24 jurisdictions here.

Please know that if more money is allocated to the Maryland Small Business COVID-19 Emergency Relief grant program, you will not have to re-apply and you will not lose your place in the queue. Applications that are approved but do not receive grants will be kept on file and in order.

We encourage you to continue exploring local, county, and federal funding options listed on our website. We are updating it as more programs are announced throughout the state.

We appreciate your understanding.
