Harford Council Hears Arguments Against Apartments Planned for Bel Air South

The Harford County Council heard more arguments against 198 apartment units planned for the Plumtree Road area from residents, about 20 or 30 of whom came to Tuesday's council hearing on the development. Read more from the Baltimore Sun article.

Status of Harford County Parks and Recreation Projects

  • Anita C. Leight Center Improvements: The next project will address the drainage in the boat launch area
  • Joppatowne HS Synthetic Field and ADA Upgrades: Design is scheduled to start in September 2013 for the conversion of the stadium field to synthetic turf. Project is scheduled to go to construction in the spring of 2014. The stadium will also get ADA improvements as part of the project.
  • Mariner Point DMP: Project is currently being bid and the work will be scheduled for late fall and winter.  DNR is looking to identify additional funding for the project to meet the anticipated costs.

Bel Air's John Carroll School Celebrates 50th Anniversary Celebration

In 1964, The John Carroll School in Bel Air opened its doors to its first students. On Monday, the school held a special Mass and rededication of one of its buildings to kick off several months of 50th anniversary events lasting into next year. Read more in the Aegis article.
