The County Line Newsletter: County Announces Informational Meeting on State-Mandated Stormwater Remediation Fee

On May 2, 2012, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley signed into law House Bill 987, which requires 10 Maryland counties, including Harford, to collect a Stormwater Remediation Fee to fund the implementation of local stormwater management practices and stream and wetland restoration projects. This bill passed the House of Delegates by a 91-45 vote, and passed the State Senate by a 33-14 vote. Read more here.

Comptroller Honors Harford Resident for the Golden Apple for Superior Volunteerism

Comptroller Franchot presented exceptional volunteer Tina Mike with his inaugural Golden Apple Award for Harford County. The new award program is designed to recognize outstanding volunteers, organizations and individuals, within the Maryland public school system. Ms. Mike was reconznized for her work in providing and advocating for financial literacy education for Harford County students.
