County Executive Highlights Economic Initiatives in State of the County Address

County Executive Bob Cassilly spoke to local community and business leaders at his State of the County address on February 23 at Water’s Edge Event Center. He highlighted multiple economic development initiatives, including: development of a Business Navigator to help business owners navigate the business development process; creation of the Southern County Task Force to address specific issues for businesses and residents along the Route 40 corridor; the shift in focus to higher paying and technically skilled jobs; and his administration’s commitment to fiscal responsibility. He also emphasized the county’s diverse business ecosystem, detailing the significance of the defense, healthcare, and tourism sectors relating to the county’s future economic growth.


Harford Night in Annapolis Showcases County Businesses, Nonprofits to State Leaders

Some of Harford’s business success stories were on display to state legislators at the annual Harford Night in Annapolis on February 1. Elizabeth Wise, president and CEO of University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, Harford’s largest private employer, was the featured speaker at the event, coordinated by the Greater Harford Committee. Other businesses representing Harford included Frederick Ward Associates, Rockfield Manor, and Frito-Lay. County Executive Bob Cassilly also attended.

Project Opportunity

This eight week course will teach military spouses how to develop a business plan and will feature presentations from industry experts. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 6 - 9 p.m. at 2021D Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD 21078 beginning March 29.

AUSA Luncheon Highlights Cyber Priorities

Brig. Gen. Paul Craft, Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), was the featured speaker February 21 at a luncheon hosted by the MG Harry Green, Aberdeen Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA). Craft highlighted the cyberspace ecosystem and ARCYBER’s priorities of modernization and the importance of cultivating partnerships.
