Commissioners Endorse Beginning of Stage Three of Governor Hogan’s Recovery Plan

Westminster, MD, Thursday, September 3, 2020 – Today in Open Session, the Carroll County Board of Commissioners endorsed State of Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s new Executive Order to begin entry level Stage Three of the ‘Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery,’ which includes a safe and gradual reopening of additional workplaces and businesses such as movie theaters and live entertainment venues, approval to increase capacity from 50% to 75% for retail establishments and religious services. This stage begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020.

County officials caution everyone that state orders are still in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and all should continue to maintain their vigilance in adhering to safety guidelines.

In taking this action, the county is following the lead of the state leadership as well as state and local health officials. As this situation evolves, the county will continue to evaluate and assess its operations and make changes as needed.
