CANCELLATION OF MARYLAND
MICROBREWERY FESTIVAL
Union Mills Homestead Cancels Popular
Annual Event

Union Mills, Maryland – The Union Mills Homestead Foundation, Inc. announces the cancellation of the Maryland Microbrewery Festival that had been scheduled to be held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the historic Union Mills Homestead. Due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, the event has been cancelled as have so many other community events.

This year’s festival would have been the 15th annual Maryland Microbrewery Festival, held at the site the last Saturday in September each year. The Maryland Microbrewery Festival is a fun-packed event that celebrates and promotes the best of Maryland’s handcrafted and distinctive microbrews. The event is a major fundraiser to help fund the preservation and operation of the Union Mills Homestead. In view of the cancellation, the organization is accepting donations to offset the loss from the event’s cancellation. Donations can be made directly on the Union Mills Homestead’s website, unionmills.org.

Event planners are working to continue to promote local breweries this year through an online event during Carroll County Beer Week, which is scheduled for September 21-26, 2020. When finalized, details will be available on the website carrollbeerweek.com. Event cancellation is a disappointment to many, but the health and safety of all our brewers, volunteers, and guests is our top concern. We look forward to a seeing our many supporters at the 2021 Maryland Microbrewery Festival, scheduled for Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Union Mills Homestead.
