Water Main Break in the Vicinity of the Intersection of
MD 26 and MD 32

Eldersburg, MD, 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 20, 2019 – The Carroll County Bureau of Utilities has continued with the investigation and determination of the best repair approach for the water main break along MD 32 south of the intersection of MD 26 and MD 32. County staff has also continued with the process of isolating the immediate service area in the vicinity of the break and system users may experience fluctuation of water pressure during the afternoon and evening hours. The impacted service area has approximately fifty commercial and residential customers and is bounded by Londontown Boulevard to the north, MacBeth Way to the south, Old Bartholow Road to the west and Georgetown Boulevard to the east.

Be advised that the water main break is under control at this time and that all users have full water service. Additional work to the water system will be required to fully repair the water main break. The additional work will only impact the service area south of the intersection of MD 26 and MD 32 and north of MacBeth Way. This work will be scheduled as soon as possible and further updates regarding this will be provided as information becomes available.

If any service system users experience cloudy water during this period, it is recommended that cold water taps be turned on and that the water be run for several minutes to clear the lines. It is also advised that users refrain from using high water volume appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers, etc., during periods of cloudy water or low pressure.

If you have any questions regarding this water main break, please call the Bureau of Utilities office at 410-386-2164. This will be the last release regarding this event for December 20th.
