Commissioners Proclaim September as
Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

Westminster, September 13, 2019- The Board of County Commissioner proclaimed September 2019 as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in open session on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Suicide is the tenth leading cause of death in the United States and the second leading cause of death among individuals between the ages of 10 to 34.

There is no greater responsibility than that of protecting the lives of those in our community and several community partners and members have come together to provide training, increase prevention and awareness efforts, and to increase access to care.

September is known around the United States as National Suicide Prevention Month and is intended to promote awareness and reduce stigma across the nation, reaffirming our commitment to preventing suicide.
