Wantz Appointed to FEMA Regional Advisory Council

Westminster, MD, Thursday, May 16, 2019 – Carroll County Government is pleased to announce the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently appointed Carroll County Board of Commissioner President Stephen A. Wantz, District 1 to the Regional Advisory Council (RAC) in Region III.

The primary goal of the council is to improve communication and understanding among the various organizations involved in emergency management and response and to enhance preparedness for future disasters. Commissioner Wantz represents one of the few elected officials appointed to the United States Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Region III Advisory Council.

“I am honored to accept this appointment and serve the region and Carroll County in this important initiative,” Commissioner Wantz said, “My extensive career in public safety and subsequent public service are grounded on my passionate support and commitment to any means improving public safety and I look forward to working with this exemplary group to create safer and more prepared communities.”
