Carroll Transit System Seeks Citizen Input on County Public Transportation

Westminster, MD, Monday, February 11, 2019 – Carroll Transit System, the public transportation program in Carroll County, is seeking Carroll County resident feedback to assist in developing a five-year plan update, termed the Carroll County Transit Development Plan (TDP).

Citizen feedback will be used to complete major tasks for the planning study including: an analysis of current services; an analysis of transit need based on demographics, land use, and stakeholder input; the development of options to consider for inclusion in the plan; and the draft and final versions of the TDP. The TDP is a requirement of the Maryland Transit Administration with the previous plan developed in 2013.

As part of the transit needs analysis, the county is gathering opinions from Carroll County residents with a survey. Stakeholder outreach will also include surveys of current transit riders and major employers.

This survey is being conducted between February 11 and March 11, 2019. The survey results will help inform the study team regarding the service options that should be considered for inclusion in the five-year TDP Update.
