 Schedule of Future Budget Meetings
Released
Westminster, Thursday, March 8, 2018 – This afternoon, Mr. Ted Zaleski, Director of
Management and Budget, presented the Fiscal Year 19 Budget Overview to the
Board of County Commissioners.
The FY19 Budget Overview is
derived from hundreds of staff hours during which staff review prior budgets,
meet with agency and department leaders, follow trends in the real estate
market, income taxes, recordation and filing fees and a whole host of other
activities to ensure that the recommended budget is based on the best, most
accurate and up-to-date information possibly available.
Mr. Zaleski began the
presentation with three core messages: income tax uncertainty led to reduced
6-year revenue projections; limited flexibility heightens the importance of
every decision; and pressures on the ability to maintain service levels remain.
Board Goals are to build on existing plans and direction and providing additional
direction will help prepare for the Recommended Budget. Mr. Zaleski then revealed a thorough and
detailed presentation of the FY2019 budget. The entire Budget Overview
presentation can be viewed here.
