 Commissioner Richard Rothschild Will Not Seek 3rd Term
Westminster,
Maryland, Monday, February 26th, 2018 - Commissioner Richard
Rothschild today announced he will not seek another governmental office in this
year's election.
Rothschild
said, "I voted for term limits, and intend to keep my word. I trust the
73% that elected me, will remember me with two words: PROMISES-KEPT”
His
list of accomplishments include:
• Championed efforts to preserve the
rural fabric of Carroll County;
• Lowered taxes, while-reducing
long-term bonded debt by $85 million (25.6%).
• Said “NO” to the Rain Tax;
• Wrote Maryland’s first comprehensive nullification
resolution, declaring Carroll to be a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County;
• Blocked federal attempts to relocate
illegal aliens to Carroll County;
• First U.S. official to purge a U.N. planning program from
government. More than 120 governments nationwide followed the lead;
• Founding member of Maryland’s first
Rural Counties Coalition;
• Extracted Carroll from a misguided
$240 million incinerator with minimal penalties;
• Focused regional attention on the
Conowingo Dam as a source of Bay pollution.
 “Most importantly,” said Rothschild, “I’ve shown ‘Republi-Can’ts’ how to fight-back against overwhelming odds; and will work through other organizations to help train the next generation of ‘Republi-Cans’.”
