 Veterans Service Center Update
Westminster, MD, Thursday,
January 25, 2018 – Carroll County Government and the Carroll County Veterans Independence
Project (CCVIP) are collaborating on this joint press release to further inform
county residents of our mutual commitment to establish a ‘Veterans Service
Center’ in Carroll County. Progress is
being made. Recently, the county, with CCVIP’s input and support, submitted an application
to the US Department of Health and Human Services for a clean deed to the
property for the expressed purposes of establishing a services center for veterans
and their family members.
Additionally,
CCVIP understands its role with this project and has established itself as a
private corporation completely separate from Carroll County Government. CCVIP has recently filed with the Internal
Revenue Service to establish itself as a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Further, CCVIP understands that it will be
responsible for soliciting the necessary funds for the development of the site
(the US Army Reserve Building on Malcolm Drive) and for the ongoing funding as
well as staffing and management of the center.
