TRAFFIC ALERT – Independence Way

On Wednesday, September 27th between the hours of 3:00 pm and 10:00 pm Independence Way will be closed to thru traffic as the Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the Carroll County Departments of Public Safety and Public Works, the Maryland Emergency Management Agency, the University of Maryland’s Department of Environmental Safety, Sustainability and Risk, the Federal Bureau Of Investigation, and the Maryland Army National Guard’s 32nd Civil Support Team will be conducting a Radiological Functional Training Exercise. Entrances to the businesses along Independence Way will remain open.

Carroll County appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation with any travel delays or difficulties that this training exercise may cause. Please contact the Bureau of Engineering at (410) 386-2157 for additional information or with any questions regarding this matter.

TRAFFIC ALERT – Old Bachmans Valley, Lemmon, Sullivan, Beggs, Old Fridinger Mill, and Fridinger Mill Roads.

 On Sunday, 24 September 2017, between 8:00 AM and 10:30AM the Westminster Road Runners Club will be sponsoring a half marathon run on/in the area of Old Bachmans Valley, Lemmon, Sullivan, Beggs, Old Fridinger Mill, and Fridinger Mill Roads. The following roadways will be utilized for the event and will remain open to traffic, however motorists should use caution and be aware of these other roadway users: Old Bachman Valley Road from the intersection of Lemmon Road to Fridinger Mill Road; Lemmon Road; Sullivan Road from the intersection of Lemmon Road to Beggs Road; Beggs Road; Old Fridinger Mill Road; and Fridinger Mill Road from the intersection of Old Fridinger Mill Road to Old Bachmans Valley Road. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes to avoid delays. The Westminster Road Runners Club thanks motorists for their patience and cooperation and reminds them to use caution while driving through these areas.
