Commissioners Welcome New Taneytown Senior Center Manager

Jennifer Burr Joins Bureau of Aging & Disabilities

Taneytown Senior Center has a new manager after the retirement of Ruth Martin. Jennifer Burr began her position on June 1, 2017 and joins county government with an extensive background in Aging. She has a degree in Gerontology and a minor in Health Science from Towson University. Bureau Chief of Aging, Celene Steckel, stated "Carroll County is very fortunate to have Jennifer."

When asked by Commissioner Richard Weaver what her best experience was so far, she replied, "Each day I'm learning something new and I am inspired by the hard work of our seniors. Some of them are still working. They are getting on their tractors at 4:00 AM and then they are coming into the center to shoot a game of pool."
