Weekend Road Closures for Friday, December 13th through Sunday, December 15, 2024
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians of temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the following activities this weekend.

Traffic Modifications for Charm City Lights
This evening, temporary road closures and traffic modifications will be implemented for the Charm City Lights display at Druid Hill Park. The event runs nightly through Monday, January 1, 2025.
On these days, Druid Hill Park will close to non-participants at 5:00 p.m. Display attendees must enter the park near the Rawlings Conservatory entrance at Gwynns Falls Parkway and Beechwood Drive. All other park entrances will be closed nightly through Monday, January 1, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each night:
- Swann Drive – Closed at Druid Park Lake Drive
- Sisson Street / East Drive – Closed for inbound traffic into Druid Hill Park
- Gwynns Falls Parkway and Beechwood Drive – Park entrance open for light show patrons only.
Please note that all vehicles must vacate the park by 3:00 p.m. daily, except from the Rawlings Conservatory parking area, as cars will begin to be towed from the park at this time. Motorists should adhere to all posted parking restrictions to avoid being ticketed and towed.
Lane Closures for CFG Bank Arena Event
On Friday evening, temporary lane closures will be implemented in the vicinity of the CFG Bank Arena for an arena event.
In preparation for the event, the following lane closures will be implemented from approximately 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13th until 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024:
- Howard Street left lane closure from Camden to Pratt Streets
- Lombard Street right lane closure from Hopkins Place to Howard Street
- Baltimore Street left lane closure from Howard Street to Park Avenue
- Pratt Street left lane closure from Eutaw to Howard Streets
Motorists traveling in the vicinity of the CFG Arena Friday evening should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the Celtic Solstice Five-Miler
This Saturday, temporary road and lane closures will be implemented for the Celtic Solstice Five-Miler Race which will be held in Druid Hill Park from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
In preparation for the event, the following roads will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, December 14, 2024, starting at approximately 7:00 a.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:
- Beechwood Drive, from Gwynns Falls Parkway to Swann Drive
- Swann Drive, from Druid Park Lake Drive to Mansion House Drive
- East Drive, from Mansion House Drive to Wyman Park Drive
- Pool Service Drive, from East Drive to Red Road
- Red Road, from Pool Service Drive to Shop Road
- Shop Road, from Red Road to Grove Road
- Grove Road from Shop Road to Red Road
Race Route:
- Begin heading south on Safari Place
- Left on Beechwood Drive to the end
- Left on Swann Drive
- Right on East Drive and turnaround just before crossing over the I-83 bridge
- Right onto Pool Service Drive
- Right onto Red Road
- Right onto Shop Road and continue onto Grove Road
- Right on Red Road
- Right onto East Drive
- Right on Mansion House Drive
- Right on Swann Drive
- Right on Beechwood Drive
- Right on Safari Place to finish.
Motorists should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the race for the safety of participants.
Traffic Modifications for the Concord Community Parade
This Saturday, temporary road and lane closures will be implemented for the Concord Community Parade which will be held along Liberty Heights Avenue from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The parade will start at the intersection of Hillsdale Road and Liberty Heights Avenue. Participants will proceed west on Liberty Heights Avenue, right on Marmon Avenue, and finish on Marmon Avenue between Liberty Heights Avenue and Peerless Avenue.
In preparation for the event, the following roads will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, December 14, 2024, starting at approximately 8:30 a.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:
- Liberty Heights Avenue from N. Rogers to Eldorado Avenues
- Hillsdale Road from Maine to Liberty Heights Avenues
- Gwynn Oak Avenue from Liberty Heights to Maine Avenues
- Woodbine Avenue from Liberty Heights to Gwynn Oak Avenues
- Marmon Avenue from Peerless to Liberty Heights Avenues
- Chandler Avenue from Marmon Avenue to 5314 Liberty Heights Avenue (in rear).
Motorists should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the event for the safety of participants.
Traffic Modifications for Weekend Activities
This weekend, temporary lane and road closures will be in effect for various activities.
On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the following lane and road closures will be implemented (times approximate):
- Hilton Parkway northbound and southbound right lane closures between North Avenue and Mulberry Street 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (cleaning activities)
- Lower-level St. Paul Street closed between Centre and Franklin Streets 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (crane operation)
- Bowleys Lane closed between Sinclair Lane to Moravia Road 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (guardrail repair)
On Sunday, December 15, 2024, the following lane closures will be implemented (times approximate):
- Jones Falls Expressway / I-83 northbound and southbound left lane closures between Fayette Street and the city/county line 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (cleaning activities)
Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market
This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.
On Sunday, December 15, 2024, the following street and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with parking restrictions in effect:
- Holliday Street closed from E. Pleasant Street to E. Saratoga Street
- Pleasant Street closed at Holliday Street
- Hillen Street center lane closure between Front Street and Fallsway
