BALTIMORE, MD. (FEBRUARY 4, 2012)--"On behalf of the people of Baltimore, I want to congratulate Matt Birk for being named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year. His commitment to improving the lives of people in our community is an outstanding example for his fellow players and for us all. We are grateful for the work he does with school children in Baltimore through the HIKE Foundation's 'Ready, Set, Read!' and 'Read and Rise' programs.
