Weekend Road Closures for June 15, 2018

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Pride Parade and Block Party 

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the Baltimore Pride Parade which will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.   Citizens and residents should be advised that this year’s Pride Parade has a new route along Charles Street.  The parade will kick off from the intersection of Charles and 33rd Street and proceed south along Charles Street to end at 23rd Street. 

For parade formation, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m. (until clear):

  • Art Museum Drive from Wyman Park Drive to N. Charles Street
  • Charles Street from 33rd Street to 31st Street 

The remainder of the parade route along Charles Street between 31st and 23rd Streets will close to through traffic at 12:45 p.m.  Motorists should be advised that temporary traffic stops will be implemented during this time for the safety of parade participants.  Baltimore City Police & Transportation Enforcement Officers will assist with traffic control and allow motorists to pass through breaks in the parade when possible, but citizens should expect delays if traveling in this vicinity.  Parking will be restricted along the parade route during the hours of the event. 

In addition to the parade, the Baltimore Pride Block Party will also be held on Saturday.  In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic starting at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 through 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2018:

  • Charles Street between North Avenue and 23rd Street
  • 20th Street between Maryland Avenue and St. Paul Street
  • 21st Street between Maryland Avenue and St. Paul Street
  • 22nd Street between Maryland Avenue and St. Paul Street 

Parking will also be restricted in these areas during these times.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for Grand Opening of One West Mt. Vernon Place

This weekend, portions of Charles Street and Mt. Vernon Place will be temporarily closed for the grand opening celebration of One West Mt. Vernon Place.  In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic from 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June15, 2018 to 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2018 with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • West leg of N. Charles Street from Centre Street to Mt. Vernon Place (East leg of Charles Street will remain open for motorists)
  • Both sides of W. Mt. Vernon Place from N. Charles Street to Cathedral Street ( Mt. Vernon Place will remain open for motorists) 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should watch for changing traffic patterns and are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

 

Northern Parkway Ramp Closure

This Saturday, a Northern Parkway exit ramp from the Jones Falls Expressway will be temporarily closed for conduit work.  On Saturday, June 16, 2018 the exit ramp from the northbound Jones Falls Expressway to westbound Northern Parkway will be closed to through traffic from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Intersection Paving at Reisterstown Road and Fulton Avenue

This Sunday, the intersection of Reisterstown Road and Fulton Avenue will be temporarily closed for paving work.  On Sunday, June 17, 2018 the intersection of Reisterstown Road and Fulton Avenue will be closed to through traffic from 7:00 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m. with detours in effect.   

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
