Location: Office of the Attorney General, Criminal Division, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit 200 St. Paul Place, Baltimore, Maryland
Description: The Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants for (3) Fraud Analyst positions in its Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). Fraud Analysts will work with Assistant Attorneys General and staff of the MFCU conducting confidential criminal and civil investigations of fraud by health care providers receiving Medicaid funds. Duties include identifying, locating and interviewing key witnesses; analyzing medical records, data and other electronic evidence; preparing witness interview memoranda, preparing spreadsheets and reports; serving subpoenas and other document requests; testifying in grand jury and court proceedings; drafting and executing search warrants, working with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, conducting surveillance; preparing cases for trial.

Location: Office of the Attorney General, Criminal Division, Medicaid Fraud Control Unit 200 St. Paul Place, Baltimore, MD
Description: The Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants for (2) Investigative Auditors in its Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). This position is responsible for conducting highly confidential criminal and civil investigation-related audits requiring in-depth analysis of suspected fraud by health care providers receiving Medicaid funds. Investigations and audits involving sensitive matters and probe allegations of patient abuse and neglect, as well as complex fraud schemes such as billing for false or inflated services, kickbacks, obstruction of justice, theft, misappropriation by a fiduciary, illegal distribution of drugs and other violations of the Maryland Medicaid Program.
Duties include working in a team environment to identify and investigate complex fraud schemes, evaluating allegations of fraud and developing an investigative plan; analyzing Medicaid claims data for patterns of fraud and red flags; examining financial records and tracking assets to locate and identify fraud-tainted assets; developing financial models to determine settlement positions; preparing for and conducting interviews of witnesses, healthcare providers, Medicaid recipients, and state agents to develop evidence needed to evaluate and uncover fraudulent activities; preparing and presenting materials to document findings; collecting, organizing and analyzing large complex data sets for use in nationwide qui tam cases, and testifying in grand jury and court proceedings.
