Preparing for Launch

Preparations for launching the Maryland ABLE program continue!

Look for enrollment parties across the state, where people can easily access ABLE staff and ABLE ambassadors to answer questions, assist with the enrollment process, and take part in ABLE-related festivities!

If your organization would like to consider hosting an "Enrollment Party," email  us at ABLE@maryland529.org.

Will there be changes to ABLE accounts in the future?

  • In April 2017, members of congress re-introduced three ABLE improvement bills including an age adjustment bill increasing the age of qualification from 26 to 46; a bill to allow families to roll over 529 accounts into ABLE accounts; and a bill to allow working adults with disabilities to contribute more than the $14,000 annual cap into their ABLE accounts.
