Built in Less Than 100 Days!
We partnered with People's Housing+ on a new and innovative development approach for single-family affordable housing. The Build in 100 Days Challenge was a huge success! These four FORTIFIED Gold units in New Orleans East were built under 100 days. The high-standard of resiliency and sustainability of these units are also shown to significantly reduce insurance cost for homeowners - one home received an insurance quote of just $1,700/year. Early Childcare Education Facilities are Scheduled for Upgrades across New Orleans
From Uptown to Holy Cross, the Early Childcare Education Facilities Grant Program (ECE) has big plans for supporting the creation, expansion, and enhancement of select early childcare facilities. NORA has awarded Shiloh Gardens and Early Partners expansion grants for these operators, totaling $500,000. Shiloh Gardens will expand its footprint with a new center opening in Holy Cross and Early Partners will expand its capacity with a new modular unit in Uptown!
This program will help increase the number of seats available for early childcare education. NORA is thrilled to play its role in the program's success! We couldn't do it without the community, our partners, and the technical assistance providers.

Tulane Ave. Redevelopment Project
In April and May 2025, the Tulane Ave. Redevelopment Project for non-congregate housing made major strides. As part of the Strategic Redevelopment Framework, the City of New Orleans officially leased seven parcels along Tulane Ave. near the Broad St. intersection in Mid-City to NORA.
NORA is currently maintaining the parcels and will release a nationwide RFP for development partners with expertise in these unique development needs. The redevelopment will result in up to 65 units serving the unhoused and those at risk of homelessness. This project is currently funded through an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant totaling $8.9million dedicated by the City of New Orleans. |

Affectionately known as "Ms. Paulette," she's marking 15 years with NORA this month! Since joining us in June 2010, Ms. Paulette has been an invaluable member of our Finance Department. While she's a wizard with numbers, her true passion comes from seeing every NORA project come to life.
Ms. Paulette is especially proud of our affordable housing efforts. She strongly believes that everyone deserves the chance to own a home and knows that NORA plays a vital role in making those dreams a reality by connecting with like-minded developers.
When she's not hard at work, you can find Ms. Paulette spending time with loved ones or at her happy place: the beach! Here's a fun fact: she absolutely loves being near the water, even though she "can't swim a lick"!
Ms. Paulette brings so much positivity and joy to NORA, and her smile is truly infectious. Thank you for 15 years of dedicated service, Ms. Paulette! We're so lucky to have you.

NORA is requesting proposals from experienced small business marketing experts to provide marketing consulting services to eligible applicants in the NORA Small Business Marketing Assistance Program. The submission period closes July 7.
Request for Applications - New Orleans Housing Investment Program
NORA and NORU are requesting applications from developers seeking to purchase lots owned by NORA and request financing from NORU to support the redevelopment of those lots into affordable housing. The submission period closes July 16.
