October Preparedness Tips

Flu shot and prevention scene

October 2018

Happy Fall, New Orleans!

It might not feel like it, but fall is here. And so is flu season. Here are a few tips from NOLA Ready and the New Orleans Health Department to prevent the spread of the flu:

  1. Everyone over 6 months of age should get the flu vaccination each year. Use the HealthMap Vaccine Finder to locate a flu shot distributor near you.
  2. Prevent the spread of the flu by washing your hands often.
  3. Cover your mouth when coughing and stay home if you or a family member is sick.
