Signal scheduled for full activation on Monday, Aug. 17
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 7, 2026) —The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a new traffic signal on Versailles Road (U.S. 60) for westbound traffic turning left onto southbound KY 4 (New Circle Road/Outer Loop) in Lexington at mile point 4.51.
The signal will be placed in yellow flash mode Sunday, Aug. 9 and is scheduled for full activation Monday, Aug. 17.
Once the signal is fully activated:
- Westbound U.S. 60 through traffic traveling outbound from Lexington toward Man o’ War Boulevard will have continuous green arrows and will not be required to stop.
- Inbound/eastbound U.S. 60 traffic entering southbound KY 4 (New Circle Road/Outer Loop) will continue using the designated right-exit-only lane. Lane dividers have been installed along the solid line approaching the ramp.
- Inbound/eastbound U.S. 60 through traffic and traffic traveling toward the northbound KY 4 (New Circle Road/Inner Loop) entrance ramp will be controlled by the new traffic signal.
- Westbound U.S. 60 traffic turning left onto southbound KY 4 (New Circle Road/Outer Loop) will be controlled by a green arrow and flashing yellow arrow. Motorists may turn left on a flashing yellow arrow after yielding to oncoming traffic.
Advance warning flashers have also been installed for approaching inbound/eastbound U.S. 60 traffic. The flashers will activate before the signal turns red, providing motorists with advance notice to prepare to stop.
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
