Road closure on Olivia Lane from July 31 through August 7
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 30, 2026) – Construction for the I-75 widening project in Lexington will require a short-term road closure of Olivia Lane off Newtown Pike from Friday, July 31 through Friday, August 7. The closure is necessary to allow the contractor to install pipe and construct curb and gutter at the entrance. The closure is expected to remain in place for approximately one week after it is implemented.
Beginning Friday, July 31 at 7 p.m., Olivia Lane will close for approximately one week. Motorists needing access to Olivia Lane may use Sugar Maple Lane as the detour.
Olivia Lane will reopen on or around August 7, weather and schedule permitting.

The work is part of the I-75 widening project. When complete in 2026, this project will reduce congestion and improve safety throughout the 2-mile corridor from the Paris Pike exit to the I-64/75 southern split. All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
