Right lane closure planned on KY 418 (Athens Boonesboro Road)
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 17, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a right lane closure on KY 418 (Athens Boonesboro Road) in Fayette County for drain cleaning operations.
Beginning Wednesday, July 22, through Friday, July 24, weather permitting, the northbound right lane on KY 418 (Athens Boonesboro Road) from mile point 0.0 to mile point 0.2, near Jacobson Park, will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The lane closure is necessary to allow crews to safely clean drainage structures.
Motorists should use extra caution and watch for signage and personnel in the work zone.
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
