TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Rolling Roadblocks Scheduled in Fayette County Wednesday, June 24
Roadblocks in place 9:30 a.m. through 3 p.m.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 23, 2026) – Construction for the I-75 widening project in Lexington will require temporary rolling roadblocks on I-75 South/I-64 Wednesday, June 24. This closure is to relocate a KU electrical line to finish constructing the soundwall.
Beginning Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m., a rolling roadblock will begin on I-75/I-64 southbound by mile marker 118.
Also, beginning Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m., a rolling roadblock will begin on I-75/I-64 northbound by mile marker 108. Interstate traffic will be slowed, and motorists should expect delays. The roadblocks will be completed by 3 p.m.
Wednesday, June 24
- At 9:30 a.m., a rolling roadblock will begin on I-75/I-64 southbound by mile marker 118.
- Additionally, a rolling roadblock will begin on I-75/I-64 northbound by mile marker 108. Interstate traffic will be slowed, and motorists should expect delays. The roadblocks will be completed by 3 p.m.
- The roadblocks will be completed by 3 p.m.
- Delays are possible; plan accordingly.
The work is part of the I-75 widening project. When complete in 2026, this project will reduce congestion and improve safety throughout the 2-mile corridor from the Paris Pike exit to the I-64/75 southern split. All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
