Work expected to begin June 21
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 17, 2026) — Work is now expected to begin Sunday, June 21 at 8 p.m., weather permitting, due to forecasted weather.
Beginning Sunday, June 21, at 8 p.m., the left/fast lane on I-75 southbound at mile point 110.5 will close. The I-75 northbound left/fast lane at mile point 110.5 is expected to close next week.
Traffic impacts will be announced in advance as work progresses.
All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 16, 2026) —The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that a bridge deck restoration project is expected to begin soon on Interstate 75 in Fayette County.
The $1.4 million project includes bridge deck restoration and waterproofing on the I-75 bridge over David Fork of Elkhorn Creek near mile point 110.5. The work is intended to preserve the bridge deck and extend the service life of the bridge.
Work is expected to begin Thursday, June 18, weather permitting. The project will be completed in phases and will include changing traffic shifts and lane closures as work progresses.
The initial phase of work is expected to include left/fast lane closures at mile point 110.5 on I-75 southbound and I-75 northbound. All traffic impacts will be announced in advance as work progresses.
The estimated completion date is September 1, 2026.
Motorists should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution while traveling through the work zone. Drivers should watch for signage and personnel in the area.
