First phase of work begins June 7 in Anderson County
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 3, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of an upcoming concrete intersection improvement project in Anderson, Boyle and Mercer counties.
The project will improve concrete approaches at multiple intersections along the U.S. 127 corridor. Work is expected to continue through Nov. 15, 2026.
The first phase of work will begin in Anderson County at the intersection of U.S. 127 and KY 151 (Alton Road), between mile points 6.6 and 6.7 on U.S. 127.
Beginning Sunday night, June 7, motorists should expect lane closures at the intersection of U.S. 127 and KY 151 (Alton Road). Two lanes in each direction on U.S. 127 will be closed while crews remove and replace concrete pavement. Work will occur from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays and is expected to continue through June 20, weather permitting.
Additional phases of work will take place in Boyle and Mercer counties. Traffic impacts and updates will be provided in advance.
All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
