Work expected to begin next week
LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 29, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that a safety improvement project is expected to begin next week on Boone Avenue (KY 627) in Clark County.
The project will take place on Boone Avenue between mile points 6.3 and 7.6 and is intended to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists.
Planned improvements include enhanced crosswalk markings, delineators, pavement markings and other safety-focused improvements along the corridor.
Most work is expected to occur along the shoulders. Temporary flagging operations may be used periodically during installation of crosswalk markings and delineators.
Motorists should use caution, reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment in the work zone.
