Surface treatment operations planned beginning May 27

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 20, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of upcoming overnight lane closures on Interstate 75 in Fayette County for high velocity surface treatment operations.

Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 27 through Friday, June 12, weather permitting, between mile points 107.4 and 110.8 on I-75 northbound and southbound.

Operations will take place nightly from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The project area begins approximately one-half mile before Exit 108  (Man O’ War Boulevard) and extends to the Interstate 64/75 Southern Split.

Motorists should expect double lane closures in both directions throughout the project area. The open travel lane may vary depending on work progress.

Motorists should use caution, reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment in the work zone.

All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
