TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Resurfacing Work Beginning on Multiple Routes in Madison County

Flagging operations beginning May 20

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 18, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of upcoming resurfacing operations on multiple routes in Madison County beginning on Wednesday, May 20.

Flagging operations and resurfacing work will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, at the following locations:

  • KY 499 (Crooksville Road) - from mile point 4.6 (Muddy Creek Road) to mile point 8 (Brassfield Road/Panola Road) 
  • KY 595 (Poosey Ridge Road) - from mile point 16 (Barnes Mill Road) to mile point 17 (Dry Branch Road)
  • KY 876 (Barnes Mill Road) - from mile point 0 (Poosey Ridge Road) to mile point 0.7.

Initial work is expected to begin on KY 595 (Poosey Ridge Road). Operations are expected to continue for the next three weeks. 

Motorists should use caution, reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment in the work zone.

All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
