Reopening of southbound KY 15 in Jackson postponed
Closure extended until Thursday, May 21; northbound lanes remain unaffected
JACKSON, Ky. – The closure of the southbound lanes of KY 15 just north of KY 30 in Breathitt County has been extended until Thursday, May 21.
The southbound approach to KY 30 between milepoints 17.9 and 18.1 was originally scheduled to reopen Monday, May 18. Additional driving surface and shoulder repairs have been planned, and engineers have determined the best and safest way to do these repairs is for the southbound lanes to remain closed. Northbound traffic is not affected.
The road is expected to reopen on Monday, May 18.
A signed detour will be posted alerting drivers to use KY 205 (old KY 15) as an alternate route.
