TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Overnight Lane Closures Scheduled on I-75 in Fayette County

Bridge pothole repair work planned May 7

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 6, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled overnight lane closures on Interstate 75 northbound in Fayette County for pothole repair work on the Newtown Pike and Cane Run bridges.

Work is scheduled for Thursday, May 7 from 6:30 p.m. to midnight, weather permitting.

During work hours, I-75 northbound will be reduced to one lane between mile points 114.6 and 116.7. The Newtown Pike ramps to access northbound I-75 will also be closed during the operation.

To access I-75 northbound, motorists can continue east on Newtown Pike (KY 922), turn left onto Iron Works Pike (KY1973) and follow the signs to the I-75 northbound entrance ramp.

Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use caution, reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment in the work zone.

All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
