District 1 Roadshow:
Traffic Impact Report for Apr. 26-May 2

PADUCAH, Ky. (Apr. 24, 2026)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet anticipates ongoing work zone construction and long-term maintenance activities at the following locations in District 1:

Ballard County
Reduced speed limit on U.S. 60 in Ballard and McCracken counties; 35 and 45 mph in work zones. A temporary diversion is in place near MP 1 on U.S. 60 in McCracken County. Part of the U.S. 60 realignment project near Kevil. Also, Wren Road will be closed Apr. 15-24 between the new alignment and U.S. 60. The overall estimated completion date is November 7, 2026.

KY 473/Needmore Road is closed at MP 15.28, north of Bandana, for a bridge replacement project. This is between KY 1105 and KY 1782. The new bridge is expected to be open to traffic by late May, weather permitting.

Calloway County
Charley Miller Road is closed at MP 2.09, about halfway between Kelly and Jackson roads, for the construction of a new bridge over Wades Creek.  Estimated project completion is early May, weather permitting.

Clayton Town Road is closed at MP 0.17, just north of the KY-TN State Line. A bridge replacement project is underway. Estimated project completion is around by end of May, weather permitting. 

Potts Road is closed at MP 1.45, between KY 80 and KY 464. A bridge replacement project is underway. Estimated project completion is early June, weather permitting.

Graham Road is closed at MP 1.48, between KY 80 and KY 121, just south of Poor Farm Road. A bridge replacement project is underway. Estimated project completion is around the end of June, weather permitting.

Lane restriction in effect on KY 121 at MP 5.25, near New Concord, for the construction of a new bridge. One lane traffic with alternating flow and an 11-foot width restriction. Construction in two phases: northbound; then, southbound. Estimated project completion is summer 2027.

Crittenden County
KY 506 is closed at MP 0.35 for a bridge replacement project. This is near Caldwell County line. Estimated project completion is approx. mid-May, weather permitting. 

Fulton County
KY 1099/7th St. is closed at MP 2.26, at its intersection with KY 125/Union City Highway in Hickman, for construction of a new box culvert. Marked detour via KY 1463. One-lane, alternating traffic on KY 125 at this intersection until mid-July. Overall estimated project completion is Nov. 2026.

KY 94/E. Carroll Street is closed due to a slide near MP 12.7 in the city of Hickman. The roadway is closed to thru traffic.

KY 1907/Swamp Root Road is closed at MP 1.727 at the Little Bayou de Chien Bridge. KY 1907 connects KY 94 and KY 781 northeast of the Cayce community. 

Graves County
Lane restrictions in effect on I-69, part of a 15-mile asphalt rehab project between Exits 25 and 41. Crews are currently working in first half between MP 24.9 and 32.5 in Graves Co. Expected to move to next segment from MP 32.5 to 40.1, mostly in Marshall Co., on about Apr. 29. Reduced speed limit of 55 mph in the work zone. Estimated project completion is Nov. 15, 2026. 

KY 1748 is closed at MP 0.12 at the Obion Creek Bridge. This section of KY 1748 is located between KY 339 and Oldham Lane, east of Wingo. Construction has been postponed as additional design work is required.

KY 408 is closed at MP 1.8, just west of KY 339, due to the closure of a bridge over Goose Creek. The project was let and awarded to a contractor. Estimated completion for the overall bridge replacement project is April 2027. 

Hickman County
KY 780 is closed at MP 3.818 at the Bayou de Chien Bridge. This is between U.S. 51 and Martin Road. Construction has been postponed as additional utility work is required. Construction expected to begin as early as summer 2026.

Lyon County
KY 819 is closed at MP 2.45 for a bridge replacement project over Panther Creek. Paving is expected soon. The new bridge is expected to be open to traffic by end of April, weather permitting.

Lane restrictions in effect on I-24 near Exit 45 (KY 293), between MP 45.1 and 50. Reduced speed limit of 55 mph in the work zone. Crossover to be constructed before traffic shift in late April. First phase of 10-mile asphalt rehab project between Exit 45 in Lyon County and Exit 56 in Caldwell County. Estimated project completion is Nov. 15, 2027.

Marshall County
KY 402/Aurora Highway is closed at MP 9.9 (Clarks River Bridge). A bridge replacement project is underway. Estimated project completion is around the end of July 2026.

55 mph work zone in effect on I-24 between the Exit 27/U.S. 62 interchange and the I-24 Tennessee River Bridge (MP 26.50 to 29.352) to reinforce bridge shoulders. Nighttime (9 PM-6 AM) detours are possible between Exits 31 and 27 to facilitate the work; follow signs and use caution. Estimated project completion is fall 2026.

KY 1477/Benton Briensburg Road is closed near MP 0.4 for a culvert replacement project over Egners Branch. This is between KY 1462/Benton-Birmingham Road and Refuse Road. Estimated completion is around mid-May, weather permitting.

McCracken County
Lane restrictions in effect on the I-24 Ohio River Bridge between Paducah and Metropolis until October 13 for Phase 2 of a bridge rehab project. One lane in each direction; 10-foot, 6-inch lane width restriction. Reduced speed limit of 55 mph in the work zone. 

Reduced speed limit on U.S. 60 in Ballard and McCracken counties; 35 and 45 mph in work zones. A temporary diversion is in place near MP 1 on U.S. 60 in McCracken County. Part of the U.S. 60 realignment project near Kevil. Also, Wren Road will be closed Apr. 15-24 between the new alignment and U.S. 60. The overall estimated completion date is November 7, 2026.

Work zone lane restrictions along U.S. 45x/Washington Street/Kentucky Avenue between 28th and 3rd streets (MP 0-2.11) for a resurfacing and roadway reconfiguration project. First phase is concrete rehab. Overall estimated project completion is around the end of August.

Lane restriction in effect on eastbound U.S. 60/U.S. 62 railroad overpass bridge near mile point 19.2, between Pugh Road and Fuller Lane. 12-foot width restriction.

KY 787/Bryant Ford Road is closed at MP 1.56 due to the closure of a bridge. This is located south of U.S. 68, between Powers Road and Bypass Road. 

KY 1420/Noble Road is closed at MP 3.95, east of KY 2411. A bridge replacement project is underway. Estimated project completion is around end of May, weather permitting.

Childress Road is closed at MP 1.37, west of KY 726/McKendree Church Road. A bridge replacement project is underway. Estimated project completion is around the end of June, weather permitting.

Trigg County
KY 807/Donaldson Creek Road is closed MP 3.9, west of KY 139, for a bridge replacement project. Paving is expected soon. Estimated completion by end of April, weather permitting. 

KY 807/Donaldson Creek Road is closed MP 0.7, near KY 1062, to replace a culvert. Paving is expected soon. Estimated completion by end of April, weather permitting. 

N. Tanyard Road is closed at MP 1.07, between U.S. 68 and KY 272, for a bridge replacement project. Estimated project completion is around the end of June, weather permitting.

KY 124/Cerulean Road is closed between KY 139 and Line Street (MP 0-0.3) to allow for the realignment and reconstruction of the KY 139/KY 124 intersection. Overall estimated project completion is by the end of May.
