TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Closure of Gilliland Road between U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road) and Eastwood Cut Off Road in Jefferson County
Detour will be in effect from April 18 through June 30
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 13, 2026) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of an extended closure and detour of Gilliland Road between U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road) and Eastwood Cut Off Road for intersection realignment and widening as part of the U.S. 60 improvement project.
The closure will be in effect beginning Saturday, April 18, and is expected to continue through Tuesday, June 30. Drivers should follow the posted detour in the affected area while work is underway.
The U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road) Widening and Improvement Project, is $3 million Transportation Cabinet project that will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion along part of Shelbyville Road in Louisville, while also enhancing mobility for pedestrians and bicyclists. It will feature a realigned, perpendicular Gilliland Road intersection with Highland Avenue at U.S. 60 to enhance safety and traffic flow.
