TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Overnight Work Scheduled on U.S. 25 in Madison County

Alternating lane closures planned March 1-5

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 27, 2026) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of scheduled overnight traffic monitoring equipment installation on the Eastern Bypass (U.S. 25) in Richmond.

The work is part of a $2.9 million resurfacing project on approximately four miles of the Eastern Bypass. Installation of traffic monitoring equipment will allow crews to collect traffic volume data in advance of the upcoming pavement improvements.

Work will take place at mile marker 16.5 (across from Richmond Fire Station No. 2) beginning Sunday night, March 1, and continuing through Thursday morning, March 5, weather permitting.

Work is scheduled nightly from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. in both northbound and southbound lanes. Alternating single-lane closures will be in place, with one direction closed at a time.

Motorists are advised to watch for signage and personnel in the area.

All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
