UPDATE: Intersection of KY 124 & KY 139 in Cadiz Expected to Reopen Later Today, Dec. 12

Realignment project will resume in spring

PADUCAH, Ky. (Dec. 12, 2025)  KY 124/Cerulean Road is expected to reopen to traffic at its intersection with KY 139/Jefferson Street in Cadiz later today, Friday, Dec. 12.

Since mid-July, KY 124/Cerulean Road has been closed between KY 139 and Line Street (or mile points 0 to 0.3) to allow for the realignment and reconstruction of the KY 139/KY 124 intersection.

The project is part of the state's Six-Year Highway Plan and represents an investment of about $872,000. Work includes roadway excavation, utility relocation, intersection realignment and reconstruction, storm water installation and both asphalt and concrete paving.

Work will resume in the spring and will require another closure. KYTC District 1 will issue an advisory ahead of the restart.
