KYTC holds public meeting on new Hal Rogers Parkway interchange
Exit would serve new Skyview high-ground housing community, provide access to KY 451
JACKSON, Ky. – Approximately 25 people attended a public meeting held by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet on Dec. 11 to discuss the proposed construction of a new interchange on the Hal Rogers Parkway at mile marker 55 in Perry County.
The new exit would connect the parkway to Briar Fork Circle Road and provide access to the new Skyview high-ground housing community currently under development, as well as improve connectivity to KY 451.
The project would involve building ramps to and from KY 451 from the westbound Hal Rogers Parkway, and ramps to and from Briar Fork Circle Road from the eastbound parkway. The intersections of KY 451 and Briar Fork Circle Road, and Briar Fork Circle Road and Skyview Lane would be realigned, and a new bridge would be built to cross the parkway.
Right of way acquisition is currently scheduled to begin next year. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2028, if funding is available, and will take two years.
Meeting attendees saw the proposed alignment for the project and were given the opportunity to provide verbal or written comments on the project. Written statements will be accepted through Dec. 31. Written statements should be addressed to Darren Back, P.E., Kentucky Department of Highways, P.O. Box 621, Jackson, KY 41339.
