Public meeting scheduled Dec. 11 on construction of new interchange on Hal Rogers Parkway in Perry County

Exit would serve new Skyview high-ground housing community, provide access to KY 451

JACKSON, Ky.  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has scheduled a public meeting to discuss the proposed construction of a new interchange on the Hal Rogers Parkway at mile marker 55 in Perry County.

The public meeting will be held Thursday, Dec. 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Frontline Ministries Church, 152 Skyview Lane, Hazard. The meeting is informal and in an open-house format, meaning no formal presentations will be made. Participants may attend at any time during the meeting.

The new exit would connect the parkway to Briar Fork Circle Road and provide access to the new Skyview high-ground housing community currently under development, as well as improve connectivity to KY 451.

The purpose of the meeting is to present the preferred alternative for review and to ask for feedback from attendees regarding the project.  Attendees will be able to view maps and displays, ask questions, and provide general feedback to project team members.

KYTC representatives will be available to receive comments and respond to questions. Both written and oral statements will be accepted during the meeting.

Written statements will be accepted during the meeting and for a period of 15 days thereafter. Written statements should be addressed to Darren Back, P.E., Kentucky Department of Highways, P.O. Box 621, Jackson, KY 41339. Comment sheets distributed during the meeting can be returned using the provided postage-paid envelope.

Disabled persons wishing to attend the meeting who need special accommodations may request them by contacting Corbett Caudill, P.E., chief district engineer, at (606) 666-8841. The request does not need to be made in writing.
