Daily Closures Continue on KY 1469 in Pike County for Embankment Repairs
Right Fork of Long Fork Near Long Fork Mountain
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 05, 2025) –The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s District 12 Office advises motorists of ongoing embankment repair work on KY 1469 (Right Fork of Long Fork) in Pike County.
Work began Tuesday, Nov. 4, on KY 1469 at mile point 0.45. The road will continue to be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, as crews perform critical stabilization work near Long Fork Mountain.
GeoStabilization International (GSI) is installing a Soil Nail wall to reinforce the slope and stabilize the roadway. This repair is necessary to address long-term embankment movement and ensure the safety of motorists traveling through the area.
The project is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and travel outside of work hours when possible. Message boards and signage are posted to notify drivers of the closure and remind them to use caution near the work zone.
