Overnight Lane Closures Scheduled for I-75 Southbound and Paris Pike in Lexington Tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 5

Expect delays 7 p.m. - 5 a.m.; drivers should seek alternate routes for I-75 southbound travel

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 4, 2025)  Construction for the I-75 widening project from Paris Pike (US 68) to the Southern Split in Lexington will require temporary overnight lane closures on I-75 southbound and Paris Pike in both directions tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 5. Motorists should expect delays or seek alternate routes. The temporary closure will allow contractors to pour concrete for new lanes on the I-75 Paris Pike bridge.

Beginning Wednesday at 7 p.m., the right lane on I-75 southbound will close between mile markers 114 and 113. At 8 p.m., the middle lane will close. The left lane will remain open.

Beginning at 9 p.m., travel speeds through the open left lane will be restricted to 25 miles per hour to ensure safety for crews and drivers. Delays are likely. If possible, drivers should seek alternate routes for I-75 southbound travel.

Also Wednesday at 10 p.m., contractors will close Paris Pike in both directions under the I-75 bridge. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday. Traffic traveling eastbound – away from Lexington – on Paris Pike will detour via I-75 southbound to Exit 110 (Winchester Road), turn around and re-enter Paris Pike eastbound via Exit 113 (Paris Pike). Traffic traveling westbound – toward Lexington – on Paris Pike will detour via I-75 northbound to Exit 115 (Newtown Pike), where they will turn around and re-enter Paris Pike westbound at Exit 113 (Paris Pike).

All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday.

Law enforcement will be on site to direct traffic and ensure speed restrictions.
