Expect delays on Leestown Road between 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 3, 2025)  Construction for the New Circle Rd. (KY 4) Widening project in Lexington will require temporary overnight road closures on Leestown Road (US 421) beginning tonight, Mon., Nov. 3 through Weds., Nov. 5. The closures will allow for the removal of the remainder of the bridge carrying New Circle Road over Leestown Road, making way for the new interchange.

Beginning tonight at 10 p.m., contractors will close Leestown Road in both directions under the KY 4 (New Circle Road) overpass. The closure will be between the two sets of ramps (mile markers 1.9-1.7). All roads will reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. This closure will repeat at 10 p.m. Tues. and Weds., reopening by 5 a.m. the following morning. Drivers can use New Circle Road to go to Georgetown Road or Old Frankfort Pike (KY 1681).

In addition, the off ramp from New Circle Road westbound to Leestown Road will close tonight only. The ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
