ROADSHOW Week of Oct. 26, 2025

Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch work, litter pick up, brush clearing, culvert repairs and additional work by our KYTC maintenance crews may occur on major interstates/state routes during non-peak daytime hours and at night.
Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance on interstates/highways throughout the district DAILY. We will send out information to the public if these tasks require significant impacts to traffic.

Expect Early Morning Delays on I-71/75 Southbound Near Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) This Saturday, Oct. 25
 An in-place patching project in Kenton County will begin on Saturday, Oct. 25. The contractor will be working on two locations:
I-71/75 southbound near Dixie Highway
Beginning at 4 a.m., crew will CLOSE the right three lanes from Kyles Lane to south of Dixie Highway (U.S. 25). That means a single left lane will be open. PLAN AHEAD!
Additionally, the on-ramp from Kyles Lane to I-71/75 SB AND the off-ramp from I-71/75 SB to Dixie Highway will be closed.
Dixie Highway near the Highland Cemetery
Once that work is completed on I-71/75 southbound, crews will shift to Dixie Highway near the Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell. Expect this to begin at around noon on Saturday. A single right lane closure will be in place on Dixie Highway northbound from Greenbriar Avenue to the cemetery.
More locations to be announced
Four additional routes will also receive in-place patching work in the coming weeks: Taylor Mill Road (KY 16), Sleepy Hollow Road (KY 1072), Hands Pike (1501) and Richardson Road (KY 1829). We will provide an update once this work has been scheduled.

BOONE AND KENTON COUNTIES:
Overnight rolling roadblocks are scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 26, on I-275 and I-71/75 in Boone and Kenton Counties. Traffic will be temporarily slowed in several locations to allow for utility work.
Crews will install new wires that will span I-275 east of the Point Pleasant Road overpass.
Several rolling roadblocks, each lasting approximately 15 minutes, will occur between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Traffic on affected segments of I-275 and I-71/75 will be slowed to allow the work to proceed safely.
In addition, temporary delays may occur on the following on/off ramps during the rolling roadblocks: Turkeyfoot Road (KY 1303), Dixie Highway (U.S. 25), Mineola Pike (KY 3076), Airport Access Road/Terminal Drive (KY 212), North Bend Road (KY 237), Commonwealth Avenue (KY 236), I-71/75 northbound ramp to I-275 westbound, I-71/75 southbound ramp to I-275 eastbound/westbound and Buttermilk Pike (KY 371).
Law enforcement will be on-site to assist with traffic control. Motorists should expect delays, consider alternate routes, and avoid the area during the scheduled hours. Please adhere to posted signage. Do not pass crews blocking ramps during the rolling roadblock.
Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed by 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Mary Grubbs Highway (KY 14) – 8.05 – 8.83 mile points – A roadway rehabilitation and improvement project is currently underway. This project will take place between Stephenson Mill Road and Dixie Highway (U.S. 25). Crews have been working during overnight hours on the center median islands located within the project footprint. Motorists should expect various single lane closures between the working hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The project will include asphalt resurfacing, upgraded traffic signal detectors, asphalt rehabilitation and grading/drainage improvements. Two other portions of road on KY 16 and U.S. 25 are part of this roadway improvement project. The overall project is expected to be completed December 2025.

Walton-Nicholson Road (KY 16) – 2.48 – 3.38 mile points – A roadway improvement project between Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) and the Boone/Kenton County line is underway.
This work will take place during overnight hours. Base failure repairs are now complete. Milling and paving operations have not yet been scheduled. KYTC will provide an update once these operations have been scheduled.
Two other portions of road on KY 14 and U.S. 25 are part of this roadway improvement project. The overall project is expected to be completed December 2025.

Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) – 2.58 – 3.99 mile points – A roadway improvement project between Chambers Road (KY 2951) and north of Logistics Blvd. is underway. Crews will begin addressing base failures on Thursday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Oct. 24 in the project area.
This work will take place during the daytime working hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Motorists should expect various single lane closures during working hours with flaggers guiding traffic safely through the work zone.
Motorists should expect delays and find alternate routes. Milling/paving operations have not yet been scheduled. KYTC will provide updates once they're available. Two other portions of road on KY 14 and KY 16 are part of this roadway improvement project. The overall project is expected to be completed December 2025.

Dutch Ridge Road (KY 2370) – 3.99 – 5.24 mile points – A resurfacing project on Dutch Ridge Road beginning just north of Hargetts Lane to Augusta-Minerva Road (KY 435) will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Milling/paving operations are now complete. Crews are currently performing shoulder work during daytime working hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with flaggers on-site to direct traffic.

Asbury Road (KY 875) – 6.18 – 9.24 mile points – A resurfacing project on Asbury Road from Brooksville-Germantown Road (KY 10) to Dutch Ridge Road (KY 2370) is in progress.
Milling/paving operations are now complete. Crews are currently performing shoulder work during daytime working hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with flaggers on-site to direct traffic.

Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) – 9.1 – 9.6 mile points – As part of an in-place patching project, crews will close the right northbound lane of Dixie Highway from Greenbriar Avenue to the Highland Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 25 at noon.
This single lane closure will remain in place through 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25. KYTC will provide more details about other locations receiving in-place patching throughout the county as the locations are scheduled by the contractor.

VARIOUS ROUTES – The application of high friction surface on various routes in Kenton County is in progress.
To minimize disruptions, work will take place during both daytime and nighttime hours but will avoid peak travel times. Motorists should expect a single lane closure with flaggers directing traffic as needed. Contractors will apply a high friction treatment to the roadway surface, improving pavement grip to help drivers maintain better control in both dry and wet conditions.

COMPLETE:
Interstate 75 southbound off ramp to Donaldson Highway (KY 236) (mile points 0.27 – 0.33)
Friday, Oct. 24:
Visalia Road (KY 536) on the curve near Staffordsburg Road (mile points 7.42 – 7.60)
Saturday, Oct. 25:
Taylor Mill Road (KY 16) near Stablewatch Drive in Independence (mile points 7.87 – 8.01)
Sunday, Oct. 26 and Monday, Oct. 27:
Kenton Lands Road (KY 2373) beginning near the railroad overpass to just north of the Silverlake Entrance in Erlanger (mile points 0.30 – 0.60)
This work is weather permitting and dates are tentative. We will update this list if any schedule changes occur.

Claxon Ridge Road (KY 607) – 0.0 – 1.00 mile point – A resurfacing project on Claxon Ridge Road from U.S. 127 extending northerly towards Nicholai Road is in progress.
A single lane closure will be in place during daytime working hours with flaggers on-site to direct traffic around the work zone.
Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2025.

Cull Road (KY 1761) – 0.0 – 4.81 mile point – A resurfacing project on Cull Road from KY 22 extending northerly to KY 3215 is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
A single lane closure will be in place during daytime working hours with flaggers on-site to direct traffic around the work zone.
Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2025.
