UPDATE: Nighttime Work Zone Continues Near Interstate 24 Exit 27/U.S. 62 in Marshall County
PADUCAH, Ky. (Oct. 17, 2025) – Work zone lane restrictions continue along Interstate 24 in Marshall County, where crews are working to reinforce the shoulders of the I-24 bridge over U.S. 62 at Exit 27/Kentucky Dam. The work takes place nightly between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
As part of this phase, a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is installing temporary striping, barrels, and a barrier wall on I-24 near Exit 27. Work will also be along the I-24 eastbound on-ramp at U.S. 62, near Love's Truck Stop.
By around Wednesday, Oct. 22, weather permitting, barrier walls are expected to be in place, and traffic on I-24 will shift to a new pattern that will keep all lanes on I-24 and the ramp open during construction.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, stay alert, and use extra caution where workers and equipment are in the roadway near traffic flow. A reduced speed limit of 55 mph is in effect in the work zone.
Work is expected to continue through mid-December.
