Ramp closure scheduled for I-75 in
Madison County
High friction surface treatment
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 7, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a scheduled ramp closure. The closure is necessary for high friction surface treatment to be applied.
High friction surface treatments (HFST) are pavement safety applications which assist to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities. The application is especially important during wet roadway conditions.
Wednesday, Oct. 8 through Thursday, Oct. 9 – 6 p.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday
Interstate 75 - Southbound
- the second Off Ramp (90 A) from Interstate 75 Southbound will be closed (milepoint 89.8)
Alternate Route
- motorists can continue southbound on Interstate 75 and take Exit 87, turn left and turn left again to re-enter Interstate 75 northbound, utilizing Exit 90 and then turn right southbound on US 25 to Richmond
All work and/or closures are subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
